Set in the magical world of Candyland, where humans and sweets live side by side, Dream Animals is a world-famous pop group made up of anthropomorphic mammals. Led by their charismatic lead singer, Lion (voiced by Genta Matsuda), Dream Animals has just wrapped up a sold-out world tour. However, upon returning home, they are horrified to discover that their hometown has been taken over by the Gottons—evil, sticky cotton candy creatures bent on conquering the world.
Setting aside internal conflicts that threaten the future of Dream Animals, Lion, Monkey, Chick, Hippo, and the rest of the group join forces with a young woman (Liliana Ono) to rescue Pegasus (Akari Takaishi) and restore peace to Candyland.
