Inspired by a true story, 1 Imam 2 Makmum tells the journey of Anika (Amanda Manopo) and her marriage to Arman (Fedi Nuril), a widower who is still in love with his late wife, Leila (Revalina S. Temat), who passed away four years ago. Although Anika enters this marriage with high hopes, she faces many disappointments. From sleeping in separate rooms to Arman’s reluctance to lead prayers as the imam, Anika’s heart is further shattered when she finds that Arman's room is still filled with memories of Leila. Can a husband love two wives, one who is present by his side and another who lives on in his memories? Will Anika be able to remain faithful and love Arman, despite often feeling unappreciated?
