Lucy returns home to Hawaii for summer break, eager to reconnect with her family and their unusual pet, a chimpanzee named Ben. Her peaceful reunion is shattered when Lucy and her friends throw a pool party in the sprawling family house, hoping for carefree nights by the water. But when Ben contracts rabies under mysterious circumstances, the chimpanzee’s gentle nature turns vicious.
As night falls, Ben transforms into a ruthless predator. Trapped by walls of water and locked gates, Lucy, her sister Erin, and friends Hannah, Kate, Nick, and others must scramble to survive. With every escape route cut off and danger lurking from within their own home, they must improvise barricades, forge alliances, and confront the horror that a loved one has become their most lethal threat.
In a brutal fight for survival, Lucy confronts not only the raging animal inside the walls, but also the fragile bond between humans and nature — and the terrifying truth that those we trust most may betray us in the blink of an eye.
