Finding himself strangely drawn to an abandoned ship at an auction, blue-collar captain David, who struggles to provide a better life for his family, buys it on impulse with hopes that it will give them a more prosperous life. However, he and his family face terrifying and strange occurrences while on their maiden journey aboard the ship. They begin to doubt their sanity and turn on each other. They come to realise that they are being lured to a greater evil out at sea as their ship continues to drift off course.
